CASPER — A 25-year-old Casper man has been sentenced to life in prison for his conviction of kidnapping and burglary.
Authorities said that Christopher Counts received the lengthy sentenced after being deemed a habitual criminal. A jury in December convicted Counts.
Counts was arrested after police say he broke into his girlfriend's house in July and wouldn't let her leave because he was jealous. Police say Counts was armed with a knife.
The woman told police she tried to flee but that Counts dragged her by her hair into the house.
Counts criminal record includes convictions for burglary, conspiracy, and check fraud.
