CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Nearly 1,000 Cheyenne-area K-12 school students could be barred from school next month because they don't have the required chicken pox vaccination.
Laramie County School District 1 head nurse Chris Bartholomew told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that 995 students are attending school without the required two doses of the chickenpox vaccination.
Parents have until Jan. 21 to get their children fully vaccinated and submit documentation to their schools. Students without the vaccination will be barred from classes beginning Jan. 24.
Wyoming in August began requiring chickenpox vaccinations for students statewide.
