A Western-themed Christmas show with music and humor plays at the Powell and Cody libraries in mid-December.
“A Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas,” created and performed by William Frederick “Buffalo Bill” Boycott, features seasonal songs, original and historical Old West songs, and stories and poems written in the cowboy/pioneer spirit.
On Dec. 12, the free two-hour show appears at the Powell Branch Library starting at 11 a.m. On Dec. 13, the free show repeats at the Park County Public Library in Cody beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Boycott plays fiddle, banjo, mandolin and guitar. Joanne Orr, who sings and plays banjo and guitar, accompanies him.
Boycott regularly performs at schools, concerts, festivals and cowboy poetry events. His recording of “A Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas” recently won an honorable mention award from the Wyoming Historical Society.
