The Sheridan County Circuit Court decided Tuesday that there is enough evidence to proceed with murder charges against Shawn Osborne, who is accused of the Jan. 15 killing of 42-year-old Gerald Bloom in Sheridan, Wyo.

Tuesday’s preliminary hearing was held to determine if there was enough evidence to continue with the felony charge of murder in the first degree filed against Osborne, 28, last month by the Sheridan County Attorney’s Office.

The case has now been sent to Sheridan County District Court, but Osborne’s next court appearance has not yet been set.

On Jan. 15, Sheridan Police officers found Bloom’s body underneath a Sheridan trailer home after a woman who lived there told them where it was, according to charging documents.

Officers allegedly found Osborne, of Sheridan,

with blood on his arms and pants.

They found Bloom’s body in a sleeping bag underneath the home and “his throat appeared to have been cut,” the charging documents state.

A motive in the killing has not been released.
