A Sheridan, Wyo., man charged with the murder of a roommate has pleaded not guilty by reason of mental illness.

Shawn Osborne, 28, was arraigned Tuesday in Sheridan County District Court on a charge of first-degree murder for the death of 42-year-old Gerald Bloom. Sheridan County Attorney Matthew Redle said Osborne remains in custody on a $150,000 bond and a trial date has been set for Nov. 15.

Osborne has undergone a mental health evaluation and will have a second evaluation, Redle said.

Bloom’s body was found Jan. 15 underneath a Sheridan trailer home after a woman contacted police. Bloom’s body was in a sleeping bag and authorities said it appeared his throat had been cut.
