CODY - A committee studying options for a proposed event center in Cody says it will try to raise private funding for a study of where to put the center.

Sam Krone is president of the Cody City Council and chairman of the committee. He says the group has finished a $31,000 economic feasibility study that was completed with $21,000 in private funding.

JGA Architects, of Billings, Mont., estimated that evaluating three possible sites for the event center would cost $15,000. The three sites being considered are the Cody Auditorium, Buffalo Bill Historical Center and the Cody Stampede rodeo grounds.

John Darby owns the Irma Hotel in Cody and is a member of the committee. Darby says about $7,000 has been pledged for the site study and additional funds could be raised to cover the full cost.
