Gillette man gets 20 years in teen sex case

  • 0

GILLETTE - A Gillette man who admitted dragging a teenage girl into his bedroom and molesting her has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Forty-three-year-old James Wesley Farber Sr. apologized to the 15-year-old girl and her family in court Friday after admitting he forced her to have sex with him twice. Farber pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

District Judge Michael "Nick" Deegan said that he didn't doubt Farber's remorse. But he sided with the prosecution's request for a 20-year sentence because of the severity of the crime.

The abuse happened last November and December in Farber's home.
