GUERNSEY, Wyo. - The Wyoming Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources has scheduled a public meeting on a proposal to move 14 bison from Yellowstone into Guernsey State Park.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Jan. 5 at the First State Bank Conference Center in Guernsey.
The meeting will include a panel discussion and public participation. State Veterinarian Jim Logan is scheduled to make opening remarks and discuss the purpose of the project.
An additional 74 bison would be moved to billionaire Ted Turner's Flying D Ranch south of Bozeman. Turner would hold the bison for five years and keep 90 percent of their offspring.
