THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. - A Hot Springs County detention officer has resigned after a former inmate of the jail said he had a relationship with her that included consensual sex in the jail.
Hot Springs County Sheriff Lou Falgoust says the detention officer resigned after being placed on administrative leave.
Falgoust says he questions the inmate's allegation but says there's evidence the detention officer did contact the former inmate through a social network site after he had been released.
The sheriff tells the Northern Wyoming Daily News that it is improper for detention officers to reach out to former inmates.
