GILLETTE, Wyo. — A former Campbell County Cemetery District supervisor accused of defrauding the district out of more than $17,000 is headed to trial.
Circuit Court Judge William S. Edwards determined this week there is enough evidence to hold a trial for 61-year-old Christina Maycock.
Maycock is charged with one count of felony robbery for obtaining property under false pretenses in this case.
Prosecutors say Maycock falsely claimed Billy Maycock as her husband from 1993 to 1999, and during that time received a family rate on insurance premiums from the cemetery district. Prosecutors submitted evidence during the Monday hearing, including a divorce decree and other documents.
But defense attorney Hardy Tate claims the prosecution's case is based on questionable witness testimony. Maycock stepped down from the board earlier this year.
