Just as firefighters contained a fire at the Wyoming National Guard's Camp Guernsey, a lightning-ignited wildfire in Albany County grew to 450 acres on Monday.
The Isabelle Fire in southwest Albany County was burning in conifer on national forest and private land about a mile south of Lake Owen, which is between the small communities of Albany and Foxpark, according to a release by the Medicine Bow National Forest.
Two air tankers, three engines, a dozer and a hand crew were called in to fight the fire. More firefighters have been ordered.
The fire at Camp Guernsey burned more than 14,000 acres before it was fully contained. The fire was started June 13 when troops fired tracer ammunition during a live-fire training exercise.
