CHEYENNE, Wyo — U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis says she's troubled by a report that the White House edited a drilling safety report to convey a false impression.
The report by the Interior Department's inspector general concluded that the White House made it falsely appear that scientists and experts supported the administration's six-month ban on new deep-water drilling.
Lummis was among those who called for the inspector general investigation into the matter.
The Wyoming Republican says the investigation calls into question the accuracy and scientific basis of every decision the Interior Department has made in recent years regarding domestic energy.
Critics of the drilling moratorium say it cost thousands of workers their jobs.
