CHEYENNE — Police recovered and detonated several explosive devices that were found in the middle of a residential neighborhood near the city limits.
Residents in the vicinity were evacuated most of Tuesday afternoon and evening.
"These devices were intended to maim, injure or kill someone," said Gil Salinas, resident agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in charge of Wyoming.
Officials became aware of the explosives at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday when an unidentified man called to say he had found something suspicious in his garage, Laramie County Sheriff's Department Capt. Rich Hillegas said.
Police said analysis of the devices probably would take a few weeks.
