POWELL — Park County Commissioners plan to reconsider Sleeping Giant Ski Area’s application for a liquor license following objections to turning down the request last month.
Commission Chairman Bill Brewer says he looks forward to the public hearing in January when the proposal will likely be taken up again.
Commissioners in November balked at granting the license, saying they were concerned about drunken driving and selling alcohol in a family friendly environment.
Ski area officials say the decision is a mistake that will hurt the slope’s business.
Park County Attorney Bryan Skoric says Sleeping Giant must comply with state liquor laws and apply again for a permit and also advertise its intent for four weeks.
The commission’s first regular meeting after those obligations are fulfilled is Jan. 5.
