CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Department of Health wants to hear from people willing to testify about discrimination they've experienced because of mental illness.

Rodger McDaniel, deputy director for mental health and substance abuse services at the health department, said the department wants to hear from people who can talk about the effect that discrimination on the basis of mental illness has had on themselves and their families.

McDaniel said the health department intends to use the information it gathers to develop a plan of how the state can address the issue.

The meeting is scheduled for 1-4 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Laramie County Library in Cheyenne.
