PINEDALE, Wyo. — Authorities in Sublette County are asking the public for information about an attack in which a woman was beaten with a bat in her home in downtown Pinedale.

Sublette County Public Information Officer Steve Smith says an intruder broke into the woman's home at about 2 a.m. on May 28.

The intruder used a bat to attack a sleeping woman in an unprovoked attack. The assailant left the bat behind. The bat is black with a red handle.

Smith says the woman suffered fractured bones in her face and a broken hand. Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading the assailant's arrest and conviction.

Authorities don't know whether the attack is related to similar unsolved attacks in the area in 2010 and 2012.
