CHEYENNE — A winter storm could bring up to 15 inches of snow in the Tetons and Gros Ventres mountains of Wyoming, and high winds are expected in the central part of the state.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the western Wyoming mountains until 11 p.m. Saturday.

Accumulations of up to two feet are possible on west- and southwest-facing slopes.

Forecasters say sustained winds of 25 to 30 mph and stronger gusts could hit the mountains.

An avalanche warning has been issued for the mountains in the northwest corner of the state.

A high wind warning has been issued for southern Fremont and most of Natrona counties, including Casper.

Sustained winds of 40 to 45 mph and gusts up to 65 mph are expected.
