Residents of the Cody area have an opportunity on Monday to learn more about the challenge of keeping Yellowstone National Park's Sylvan Pass open in the winter for snowmobile and snow coach travel.
Lake District Ranger Maura Longden will give a presentation and answer questions.
Information will include how park staff conduct avalanche forecasting and mitigate avalanche hazards through Sylvan Pass on the park's East Entrance road.
The presentation, hosted by the city of Cody, will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will be held in the City Council chambers at 1338 Rumsey Ave.
