JACKSON, Wyo. — National Elk Refuge officials say hunters have killed 92 elk on the 25,000-acre refuge so far this year.

Last year's total harvest was 126 elk for a season that ended Dec. 7. Officials have lengthened this year's season to until Dec. 13 in hopes of reducing an overpopulated elk herd.
