Letter to the editor: Losing to Taliban was dereliction of duty

The newspapers have told us about the warehouses full of weapons and ammo that we have made a present of to the Taliban. It used to be that the worst crime a general officer could commit was called dereliction of duty in the face of the enemy. So far, I have not heard of a general officer being crucified.

Apparently, our laws have become a little more flexible. But how would I know — I’m only an old soldier from World War II.
