I have had the privilege of knowing Bill Mercer over the last 10 years and have been impressed by his ability to communicate effectively with others and solve difficult problems. As a fellow volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, I found him to be friendly, energetic and hard-working. I also admire the commitment that he has shown to our community by his work for nonprofit organizations such as Big Sky Senior Services, Billings Symphony Society, and Boulder-Arrowhead Little League. Bill was born and raised in Billings and has lived in House District 46 for more than 30 years.
Bill is an experienced public servant who has proven his dedication to the Montana way of life. He served as U.S. attorney for Montana for eight years and was chairman of the Montana Board of Crime Control. As a father, I am gratified by his work on Project Safe Neighborhoods and Project Safe Childhood that target violent offenders and online predators. He is well-qualified to address the public safety and crime prevention issues that the next legislature will have to address. I am pleased to endorse his candidacy for House District 46 representative.
