Sen. Mary McNally, incumbent for SD-24, has served her constituents well. She supports public education, access to our public lands and advocates for affordable health care and insurance for all Montanans.
I am a retired educator and was a building rep for my union. During legislative sessions the MEA would meet in Helena and visit the capitol to meet with legislators. On one of those visits I met Tom McGillvray and questioned him on one of his votes. His eyes narrowed, his face twisted into a corkscrew, he poked his finger in my face and yelled, "Are you calling me a liar?" He never did answer the question. He has favored corporations over individuals, private schools over public education, and allowed health insurance coverage to exclude pre-existing conditions.
Jessica Karjala is the incumbent in HD-48. She has fought for keeping public lands public, which I consider the sacred right of Montanans. Jessica supports public education by keeping public funds public. She has supported Medicaid expansion and voted for infrastructure bills, which will help Montanan's economy and bring jobs across the state. She supports increasing funding for CPS, Child Protective Services, which is often the last resort to protect children from neglect and abuse.
As an educator, I witnessed the trauma that children endure in dire situations. Denise Johnson supports cutting funds for and weakening CPS. Children need a voice when they have no voice, CPS does that.
Re-elect Sen. Mary McNally SD-24 and Jessica Karjala HD-48, both serving and fighting for Montanans.
