New Year resolutions: If you’re unsure what to resolve, you are welcome to borrow from my list, especially if they apply to you. I resolve:
To keep my corner of the world a little bit neater and cleaner.
To clean up after my dog/pets in public places and dispose of the bag appropriately.
To say no to plastic bags and to carry reusable bags with me, (except when cleaning up after my dog/pets, then a plastic bag is just fine).
To reduce waste by using reusable containers for coffee/tea purchases.
To take advantage of touchless water refill stations at airports and public spaces.
To keep plastic out of the landfills by using reusable water bottles.
To avoid buying one-serving plastic water bottles. Instead refill large water bottles at touchless water refill stations (We have paid as little as 27 cents for a gallon of filtered water)
To take advantage of local recycling. Republic Services, 458 Charles St., accepts newspaper, magazines, cardboard, office paper, aluminum cans, tin cans, and limited clear plastics.
To put down my phone and focus on the present and those around me.
To be respectful and kind to others, especially those in customer service positions.
To search out and bless the down trodden and those who struggle.
To not compare myself to those whose lives appear to be more successful, more beautiful and more perfect on social media.
And I resolve to smile and laugh more. It really is a funny world and sometimes laughing at it is the best choice!
