Sen. Jon Tester understands what it takes to be a good teacher. He knows hardworking teachers deserve hardworking elected officials. Time and again. Sen. Tester has proven that he will work hard for Montana teachers.
Sen. Tester is unrelenting in his advocacy for programs that benefit students, like Head Start and TRiO. Sen. Tester thinks not just of the cities in Montana, but also of the rural communities, working to recruit more teachers while helping teachers pay off student loans. He has fought against the barrage of standardized tests that take valuable learning time from our students.
As a member of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee, Tester supported a bill to help school funding. Recently, Tester secured critical dollars for Montana in the bipartisan 2019 Labor, Health and Human Services and Education appropriations bill, one of the 12 major bills that fund the federal government each year.
"When Republicans and Democrats work together, good bills get signed into law," Sen. Tester said. "This bill gives our students and teachers the resources they need to succeed in the classroom, invests in our rural hospitals and clinics so they can keep serving their community, and boosts resources for job training."
Our teachers work hard. Tester works hard too! He creates and supports the very best solutions available to our Montana schools. He works hard in Washington for the teachers of Montana, so they can spend their time educating and inspiring.
Vote this November for Sen. Jon Tester.
