Great beginnings happening at Montana State University Billings for our veterans! I had the opportunity to visit the MSU Billings campus and the chancellor took me on a tour of the Military and Veteran’s Success Center. This center and a veterans director will help guide veterans through the university system. When veterans have support, they are successful. I also appreciate the chancellor’s willingness to house the Montana VA offices on campus to help all veterans needing assistance with VA services, whether it be signing up for the GI Bill or aiding with any questions. What a way for MSUB to be truly a “veteran friendly” university.
I cannot be there for the Veteran’s Day ceremony, but I am happy to see MSUB and the Friends of the Yellowstone National Cemetery hosting the county’s Veterans Day ceremony. The speakers; Major General Joe Raffiani and Chief Petty Officer Mike Stevens, will have great speeches honoring our vets and the 100-year anniversary of Armistice Day.
The university is also being honored by the State Purple Heart Administration as a Purple Heart University. What a great honor and reflection on the University. MSUB is indeed veteran friendly.
Veterans should be proud to participate with MSU Billings in celebrating Veteran’s Day 2018.
Enjoy the day. Thank you vets, for serving. Keep up the great work MSU Billings!
