I was appalled this morning (Nov. 2, 2019) when I opened my Gazette to read the divisive, partisan ad of the Republican Party. It was pushing its choices for Billings City Council, unfairly labeling opponents The city council election has been proud, in the past, to promote a bipartisan election — until now. With this ad, the Republican Party is attempting to denigrate our fair-minded community. I am disappointed in these candidates publishing their endorsement of making the city council election partisan.
If elected, the citizens of Billings will have five members on the council who do not have the social welfare of our community as their focus. They will be coming with a hidden agenda that is meant to divide our community.
