Tired of politics as usual? Disgusted with multi-millionaires and billionaires influencing our politicians to the point of big money donors writing legislation that gives them huge tax breaks?
There are a few, very few, who are running presidential campaigns that only accept small grass-root donations. If we do not support these candidates, we can count on multi-millionaires and billionaires having their way with politicians. The only two leading candidates who are not engaging in private fundraising seeking large donations from wealthy donors are Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.
I supported Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primary but, like Joe Biden, their generation will not reflect the majority of the current voters. Elizabeth Warren, however, is a woman with a deep knowledge of the issues facing us and has a record of defeating a Republican (Scott Brown), three characteristics needed in an effective Democratic presidential candidate.
But Elizabeth Warren has little or no chance against candidates who amass millions of dollars through private high-dollar fundraisers and super PACs unless you support these candidates with your time and money, candidates who not only talks the talk of campaign reform, but walks the walk. If you are disgusted with billionaires, multi-millionaires and super PACs dominating our politics, now is the time when we might be able to change that. Vote, but please vote for a candidate who seeks to return us to, “government of the people, by the people, for the people.”
