I’m writing in support of Kathleen Williams’s bid to become only our second Congresswoman ever.
Throughout her 33-year public service career, she’s consistently been a staunch defender of “public lands in public hands.” This is important to me, a third-generation Montanan who depends on access to public land to hike, hunt, and fish. As our representative in Washington, D.C., she’ll fight proposed cuts to Social Security and Medicare that threaten the lives and well-being of our most vulnerable citizens — my own father among them.
Rep. Greg Gianforte has supported efforts to end Medicare as we know it by converting it into a voucher program, and enthusiastically supported the health care repeal bill that would have left tens of thousands of Montanans without health insurance.
Also, remember that Rep. Gianforte physically attacked a member of the free press, Ben Jacobs of The Guardian, in May 2017. In the aftermath, he falsely accused Jacobs of initiating the altercation and ended up paying a measly $385 fine.
Kathleen Williams is a Montanan who knows what’s important to Montanans. Rep. Greg Gianforte is a billionaire opportunist who deserves to be fired.
