John Carlson will share photographs and stories centered on his lifetime observing the natural world at the next meeting of the Yellowstone Valley Audubon Society on Monday, Jan. 21.
The free, public presentation is at 7 p.m. in the Mayflower Congregational Church, which is located on the corner of Poly and Rehberg.
Carlson first became interested in photography more than 40 years ago when his father loaned him a camera. A Billings wildlife biologist for the BLM, Carlson grew up in Fort Peck where he was immersed in the natural world at an early age. Since then his explorations have taken him from the prairies in northeastern Montana to forays into Africa and Antarctica.
