About Billings Family YMCA

Billings Family YMCA

The mission of the Billings Family YMCA is "To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all." We achieve our mission through effective board, staff and volunteer leadership, by collaborating with other community institutions and civic groups. Just as integral to our mission, is providing human services such as job training, teen leadership opportunities, volunteer opportunities and social opportunities for seniors. Our goal is to provide quality programs which enhance the mind, body and spirit of individuals, families and the communities in which we serve, with a special emphasis on youth.

We are one of the largest providers in youth programming in Yellowstone County and are clearly positioned to take a significant lead in Youth Development. Collaboration is critical to our efforts to develop and implement effective community-based solutions. We work with elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, home school programs, hospitals, churches, sport organizations and many other service organizations.

We provide families the opportunity to have safe, affordable exercise and fitness for their children in an environment that stresses both the core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility and programs to develop healthy lifestyles.

We ensure that everyone, regardless of age, background or income has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. We provide financial aid to youth, families and community members that do not have the resources to take advantage of YMCA programs and membership.

We provide more than $500,000 in membership and program scholarships for our struggling neighbors, bringing everyone together under one roof.

Since our founding, we continue to provide health and wellness programs as an integral part of our mission. We have a strong history of being a community leader in the healthcare field and working with youth and adults. Billings Clinic, Riverstone Health, St. Vincent Healthcare and St. Vincent Healthcare Frontier Cancer Center have all paired with us to increase resources available to our community. Below are just a few of the partnered programs we have available:

  • Diabetes Prevention Program is considered one of the most successful programs for diabetes prevention in the state of Montana.
  • Active Living Every Day to build the skills you need to become and stay active at work, home and at play.
  • EnhanceFitness is a proven community-based senior fitness and arthritis management program. It helps older adults become more active, energized, and empowered for independent living
  • LIVESTRONG® is a small-group program that helps adult cancer survivors reclaim their health and well-being following a cancer diagnosis. Through this program we are creating communities among cancer survivors and guiding them through safe physical activity, helping them build supportive relationships, and reducing stress – leading to an improved quality of life.
