TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts have reportedly ended their search for a new head coach.

A league source requesting anonymity said the CFL club has hired Bart Andrus, who served this season as an offensive assistant with the NFL's Tennessee Titans. The Argos will make the move official at a morning news conference.

Andrus, who was Rocky Mountain College's head coach in 1996, was one of two coaches the Titans lost Thursday. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz was hired as the head coach of the NFL's Detroit Lions.

Andrus, 50, takes over for Don Matthews, the CFL's winningest head coach who resigned after posting an 0-8 record upon replacing Rich Stubler as coach in September. Toronto finished third in the East Division with a dismal 4-14 record to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2001.
