The Boulder-Arrowhead All Stars and the Idaho state champion team line up infield Thursday. Montana beat Idaho 5-2 to advance to the championship game.

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The Boulder-Arrowhead Majors Little League baseball Montana state champion team defeated Idaho 5-2 on Thursday, to advance to the tournament's championship Saturday.

Idaho put the pressure on the B-A All-stars with two runs in the top of the third inning to make the game 2-0 in their favor.

In the bottom of the inning, the B-A All-stars mounted a comeback. With two outs and nobody on base, Sam Reinker and Cooper Freitag drew consecutive walks. Then Josh Sears hit a bases clearing double to even the game at 2-2. Sears would be brought in by a Jakob Wilcox double to give Boulder Arrowhead the lead for good.

They would add two more runs later in the game.

Drew McDowell got the start on the mound for B-A, pitching 4 2/3 innings and allowing just two runs. Freitag pitched the remaining four outs to seal the win.

The Billings team will play the winner of Friday's elimination game between Idaho and Oregon Saturday in the championship Saturday at 1 p.m.

While their next game carries the magnitude of a trip to Williamsport, the team wants to remain loose, have fun and treat it like any other game. "The approach is the same as always," said head coach Scott Sears. "The kids are having a great time hanging out with the kids from other states. Everybody is prepared to do their job."
