IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — The Billings Mustangs forced extra innings on a ninth inning home run, but the Idaho Falls Chukars scored in the 10th to earn a 3-2 walk-off Pioneer League victory.
Matt Lloyd's solo home run gave the Mustangs (6-3 second half, 21-26 overall) a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the Chukars (3-6, 24-22) led 2-1 going into the second thanks in part to a solo homer from shortstop Brady McConnell.
The score didn't budge until the top of the ninth, when Billings third baseman Leonardo Seminati launched a solo blast.
The Chukars walked it off in the 10th on a no-out grounder from catcher Michael Emodi that scored McConnell, who was automatically put on second base to begin the inning per Minor League Baseball's extra-inning rules.
Seminati finished 1 for 2 with two walks, and the first baseman Lloyd was 2 for 5.
The Mustangs will be off until Thursday because of Tuesday's Northwest League/Pioneer League All-Star Game.
