It was only a matter of time for Dayne Read.

Read had been swinging the bat so well in Billings that the Reds front office deemed it necessary to elevate him beyond Dayton, their low Single-A affiliate in the Midwest League.
In his second stint with the Mustangs, Read wore out Pioneer League pitching to the tune of a .400 average (22 for 55) with 4 homers and 18 RBIs. He was slugging .745 and had an OPS of 1.195 at the time of his promotion.
Read had no secrets, saying, "I feel relaxed at the plate, and I'm focused on seeing the ball and hitting the ball. I'm not as focused on mechanical stuff ... I'm just trusting my hands and seeing the ball and hitting it."
Congratuations and best wishes to Read.
