GILLETTE, Wyo. — A Gillette man is putting together a Wyoming team that will compete in the American Basketball Association.

Tyson Williams has named his team the Wyoming Roughnecks.

Williams says at the outset the team will play games in Gillette, Cheyenne and possibly Casper.

The Roughnecks will be among about 25 new teams in the ABA next year.

Williams tells the Gillette News-Record that he believes Wyoming will embrace the new team because the state doesn't have any minor league basketball teams.
