HELENA - Zach Maxwell scored two first-period goals to help lift the Helena Bighorns to an 8-0 NorPac league win over Billings Saturday night.
The Bighorns, on the strength of goals by Branden Parkhouse, Matt Oberling and Adam Johnson, held a 5-0 lead at the end of the second period.
Meanwhile, Helena goalie Viktor Tuurala - who leads the league with a 2.14 goals-against average - stopped 25 shots to earn his 16th win and third shutout of the year.
"Helena is a great organization and great hockey team right now. They definitely took it to us for 60 minutes," said Bulls coach Mike Hass, whose team fell to 1-8 against Helena this season. "The sad part is, we didn't play bad."
The Bulls, who host Yellowstone on Friday, trail Missoula by 14 points for the America West division's final playoff spot.
