SPEARFISH, S.D. - Rocky Mountain College shot 32 percent from the field in the second half and fell to Black Hills State 69-60 Saturday afternoon in a nonconference women's basketball game.
The Battlin' Bears shot 35.2 percent for the game.
Rocky, 1-5 overall, received 14 points and eight rebounds from senior center Janie Rayback. Shaylynn Conroy added 12 points and Dani Henderson 10.
Black Hills, which led 33-26 at halftime, upped its season record to 5-1. The Yellow Jackets, who shot 54 percent from the field in the second half and 48 percent for the game, were led by Brittany Fuhrman's 21 points. Katelynn Lamb tallied 12 points and eight rebounds, while Courtney Johnson notched 10 points.
Rocky coach Brian Henderson said his Battlin' Bears took better care of the ball and "had some moments where we played some pretty good defense.
"We're starting to put a few things together," he said. "We just need to put them all together."
The Rocky women will be hosting the Clocktower Inn Classic this weekend in the Fortin Center. The Battlin' Bears will face Black Hills again on Thursday, South Dakota Tech on Friday and Minot State on Saturday.
All of the games are scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
