MISSOULA -- Forward Katie Baker and guard Kenzie De Boer have been named co-MVPs of the Montana women’s basketball team.
Baker, who was also named Big Sky Conference MVP, averaged 13.6 points and 7.3 rebounds a game during the regular season. She had four 20-plus point games, seven 10-plus rebound games and seven double-doubles.
De Boer, the league’s tournament MVP, averaged 13.5 points and shot 37 percent from 3-point range.
The Lady Griz finished 24-8 and 15-2 in the Big Sky in 2012-13, and went on to win the league's regular season and tournament titles. They advanced the NCAA tournament, where they lost to Georgia in the first round.
Alyssa Smith was named the team’s defensive player of the year, while Hannah Doran earned its most improved player award.
Ali Hurley was the player that most exemplifies Lady Griz basketball, and freshman Shanae Gilham earned the team’s most inspirational player award.
