MISSOULA — Montana athletic director Jim O'Day says the school will not be renewing the contract of women's soccer coach Neil Sedgwick.

Sedgwick was hired in 2004 and his teams have posted a 37-77-13 record over the past seven seasons, including a 3-12-3 mark overall this fall.

O'Day says in the best interest of the program, he felt a change was needed.

Sedgwick says he is proud of the improvements he made to the infrastructure of the program, including a better locker room, onsite weight room and stadium grounds as well as the improvement in the team's grade point average.

O'Day says a search for Sedgwick's replacement will began following the Thanksgiving holiday and the school hopes to have someone hired by the end of January.
