PULLMAN, Wash. — Former Billings Scarlet Collin Maier shares the team-lead with 17 appearances for the Washington State baseball team.
Maier, a redshirt senior right-handed relief pitcher, is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA. He has 18 strikeouts in 14 innings. Maier is a Billings West graduate and transferred to WSU from the University of Puget Sound in the fall of 2016. He played three seasons at Puget Sound and as a junior in 2016, Maier was selected to the All-Northwest Conference second team for the second straight season after compiling a 5-4 record and one save in 12 games. In 2017, he redshirted at WSU due to transfer rules according to his bio on the WSU website.
Maier was recently named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 first team. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their work on the field and in their studies. He has a 3.92 cumulative GPA majoring in mechanical engineering. He recently earned his bachelor's degree in physical sciences and is on schedule to finish his post-baccalaureate work in mechanical engineering in the fall according to a press release from the school.
