Montana Tech quarterback Quinn McQueary became the center of attention around NAIA-level football circles on Monday by being picked as the National Player of the Week.

It was the second time this season that McQueary has been so honored.

McQueary led the fifth-ranked Orediggers by completing 23 of 38 passes for 341 yards and five touchdowns in this past Saturday's 62-14 drubbing of Eastern Oregon at Alumni Coliseum. His five touchdown passes tied a school record.

McQueary also ran for 34 yards and another touchdown as Tech improved to 4-0.

Teammate Levi Lynde put his name in the Tech record book with an 88-yard punt return in third quarter of the same game, which helped with him being picked as the Special Teams Player of the Week by the Frontier Conference.

The product of Red Lodge also returned two kickoffs for 29 yards.

The Oredigger football team has a bye week but will return to action on Oct. 7 with a game at Montana Western.

This week's accolades weren't limited to the football field.

Junior golfer Sean Benson was picked as the Men’s Golfer of the Week by the Frontier Conference after turning in a four-under-par 66 during the Orediggers dual against Carroll College.

Benson was joined on the proverbial pedestal by Tech volleyball players Angela Molesworth and Sabrina Hopcroft, who helped the Lady Orediggers post convincing victories over Montana Western and Rocky Mountain College this past week.

Molesworth was selected as the Frontier Conference Attacker of the Week, while Hopcroft was the Defender of the Week.

Molesworth averaged 4.14 kills per set (.344 hitting percentage) as the Orediggers swept the Bulldogs before beating the Battlin’ Bears in four sets.

Hopcroft, a native of Florence, turned in a 31-kill performance in the win over Rocky, and finished with week with a 6.14 average per set. Her efforts helped the Orediggers become the only unbeaten team in the conference at 4-0.

The Tech volleyball team will return to action on Thursday with a trip to MSU-Northern.
