Rocky Mountain College Battlin' Bears Golf

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Eryn Ellis of Rocky Mountain College improved 22 places to advance to the third round of the NAIA Women's Golf Championships on Wednesday.

The NAIA tournament continues Thursday and Friday at the Lincoln Park Golf Club. 

As a team, Rocky came up one stroke shy of advancing and did not make the cut for the final two rounds. The Battlin' Bears, who started the day tied for 23rd, finished at 628 for 18th place. The top 17 teams advance.

The University of British Columbia (294-296-590) moved into the lead for the team title.

Ellis, a senior from Casper, Wyoming, shot an even-par 72 on the 6,050-yard layout to move into a tie for 11th place. She started the round in 33rd. Ellis had four birdies on Wednesday, including three on the back nine. She has a two-round total of 147.

Anna DeMars (797-79-158) was tied for 76th for Rocky, while Amanda Conner (81-80-161) tied for 99th. Hayden Flohr (85-80-165) and Morgan O'Neil (82-83-165) shared 116th.

O'Neil's second round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5, 451-yard No. 5 hole.

Michele Tjan of Keiser (73-70-143) and Maria Zrodowska of Williams Wood (70-73-143) are the co-leaders.
