LAUREL — The Montana State Billings and Rocky Mountain College track and field programs will be hosting the Yellowjacket/Battlin' Bears Open on Saturday.
The hammer throw will be contested at MSUB, while the rest of the events will be held at the Laurel Sports Complex.
The hammer throw will begin at 9 a.m. The field events in Laurel will begin at noon, followed by the track events at 1 p.m.
It is the only home meet for the two Billings programs.
"I think everyone is excited to have a home meet," said MSUB head coach Jon Woehl in a school press release. "We've never had the hammer throw at MSUB, so I'm looking forward to that as well. Saturday is looking favorable weather-wise, so I think it will be a good meet for our athletes."
Between hurdle events, MSUB will honor seniors Ivan Colmenero, Beau Peaslee, Janessa Williams, Josey Smiedala, Jamie Orme, Sam Zook, Abbie Lohof, Hailey Steinbeisser, Hannah Nessan, Brady Ostermiller, Kaelen Shay, Mark Hovland and Shaniah Schwend.
Along with MSUB and Rocky, teams expected to be competing are South Dakota Mines, Minot State, Carroll College, Dickinson State, Jamestown, Mary, Providence, Dawson Community College and Central Wyoming College.
