OKLAHOMA CITY — Rocky Mountain College is confident going into the NAIA national women's golf tournament, which starts Tuesday and concludes Friday at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
"We have a legitimate chance to win down here and I treasure the opportunity to be with this group of women who can compete at such a high level," Rocky sophomore Morgan O'Neil said in a press release. "Chances like this come few and far between."
The Battlin' Bears are ranked No. 16 in the NAIA and won their second straight Frontier Conference title last month. The same Rocky team that earned 18th place at last year's national tournament will be in action again this week.
O'Neil, senior Eryn Ellis and junior Hayden Flohr received first-team All-Frontier honors this season, while senior Anna DeMars, sophomore Amanda Conner and freshman Kaelyn Volk landed on the second team.
Ellis, the 2018 Frontier women's golfer of the year, is ranked No. 33 in the NAIA with an adjusted scoring average of 76.57, according to golfstat.com player rankings. Flohr is No. 88 (78.78), and DeMars is No. 144 (80.57).
