TURLOCK, Calif. — Montana State Billings pitcher Alyssa Etheridge notched five hitless innings, but Academy of Art rallied for three runs in the sixth inning for a 3-1 victory on Sunday at the Tournament of Champions here.

The Jackets softball team posted a 1-4 record at the event. 

Etheridge (4-7) was the hard-luck loser. She tossed 5.1 innings, giving up one hit and two earned runs with two walks and one strikeout. Academy of Art pitcher Cecilia Lopez recorded the seven-inning complete game. Lopez (4-3) limited the Jackets to three hits and zero earned runs. She issued one walk and struck out three.

MSUB is now 9-19. Academy of Art improved to 8-9.

MSUB claimed a 1-0 lead after 2 1/2 innings. Brittanee Fisher was hit by a pitch and Jolene House reached base on an error. Cailee Morgan drove in Fisher on a sacrifice fly to center. 

The Jackets will travel to Portland, Oregon, for a pair of twin bills against Concordia University on April 6-7.
