MONMOUTH, Ore. -- Central Washington used a six run-fourth inning to defeat Montana State Billings 6-5 and eliminated the Yellowjackets from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Tournament.
MSUB (21-27-1) lost 7-0 to Western Oregon in the first game on Thursday.
Central Washington defeated WOU 3-0 in the late game. The two teams will play on Saturday for the GNAC title.
Brody Miller had three hits in the second game for the Yellowjackets, including two doubles. He also scored two runs and had an RBI.
Kyle Sani led the Wildcats with two doubles and three RBIs. CWU scored four unearned runs in the fourth inning.
Western Oregon pitcher Spenser Watkins limited MSUB to three singles across eight innings in the first game. Miller, Colby Robison and Mack Unruh had MSUB's hits. The Yellowjackets also had five errors.
Travis Rue (27 games), Bryce Todd (14) and Drew Fosnes (10) all had their hitting streaks stopped in the opener. Rue's 27-game hit streak is second-best in GNAC history.
