Distance runners Layne Lantis and Rio Frame have signed NCAA national letters of intent to compete for Montana State Billings next year.
Lantis ran cross country for Glendive and competes in track and field this spring for Terry. He won the Class A state cross country title last fall for the Red Devils and was the Class C runner-up in the 1,600 and 3,200 last year.
"Layne brings a wealth of distance running experience to us as an incoming freshman,'' said MSUB coach Dave Coppock. "He's established himself as one of Montana's top high school distance runners. He'll be stepping into a great situation next fall, joining a very strong returning groujp of distance runnrs."
Frame, of Glendive, earned all-Class A all-state honors in girls cross country in 2011 and 2012. She was also the Eastern A divisional champion in the 1,600 and 3,200 last year.
"Rio will be a great fit for our women's cross country and track and field teams,'' Coppock said. "She's a great student and talented distance runner. She should step right in near the top of our women's cross country team this fall as well as add some depth to the track and field program."
