Montana State Billings' Jalen Garcia will finish his career ranking in the top five in most offensive categories. The Yellowjackets play Point Loma Nazarene in the first round of the NCAA Division II West Region on Thursday.

LA JOLLA, Calif. — Having already made program history with its first GNAC Tournament title, the Montana State Billings baseball team will be looking to add another chapter to a great season.

The Yellowjackets (33-18) will play No. 24-ranked Point Loma Nazarene (30-19) Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Division II West Region Championships.

The game will begin at 8 p.m. Mountain Time at Triton Baseball Field.

MSUB is the No. 6 seed, while the Sea Lions are the No. 3 seed. It is the first appearance in the NCAA postseason for the Yellowjackets. Point Loma Nazarene is from the PacWest Conference.

UC San Diego is the No. 2 seed.

The West regional is divided into two three-team brackets. The other bracket has Azusa Pacific, Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal Poly Pomona.

The Yellowjackets have hit 82 home runs this season, a GNAC record and fourth-best in Division II. MSUB also ranks fifth nationally for doubles and slugging percentage.
