PORTLAND, Ore. — The Montana State Billings baseball team opened the GNAC season with a doubleheader sweep of Concordia on Saturday.

The Yellowjackets (7-5, 2-0) won 4-2 and 8-3.

The teams play two games on Sunday.

Kade Hall had two hits and two RBIs in the opener, while Ryan Myers homered in the seventh inning.

Relief pitcher Adam Cox took the mound in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and struck out the side. Sam Wong earned the win, while Cox struck out four in three innings for his second save.

Kaleo Johnson had two hits and three RBIs in nightcap. Winning pitcher Steen Fredrickson improved to 3-0, striking out eight in 5.1 innings.
