NAMPA, Idaho — Montana State Billings mustered just five hits Friday in bowing to Northwest Nazarene University 12-0 and 8-0 in an Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's softball doubleheader.
The Nighthawks (23-20, 12-10) took advantage of three fielding errors by the Yellowjackets (11-29, 4-18) and received a three-run home run from Brittany Genuardi to take game one in five innings.
NNU used three hits by Lauren Bassett and also scored five runs in the fourth inning in beating MSUB in the five-inning second contest.
The two teams will play again on Saturday, with the doubleheader set to begin at noon.
The last-place Yellowjackets have given up 49 runs in their last six games.
